Transparent Sound Film Club – Psyché I-III (1980)
The three-part director's cut, with an introductory presentation by Marcell Dargay
The October 16th concert will continue with this screening of the 261-minute, three-part director’s cut of Narcissus and Psyché with film music by László Vidovszky and an introductory presentation by Marcell Dargay.
“Based on the poetic narration of Sándor Weöres, the film is a fantastic vision, a time-traveled story, the essential film encyclopedia of the postmodern era. Gábor Bódy combined the love of the 18th century Gypsy countess Erzsébet Lónyay, the tragic playwright László Tóth of Ungvárnémeti and the story of the fantastic Baron Zedlitz. Behind this love triangle, he draws a century-long arc of spiritual history from the Enlightenment to the 1920s. ”
